Program Description:

The Language and Culture in China offers students the opportunity to actively experience China's rich culture and heritage, while gaining confidence and proficiency in the Chinese language through courses taken at Hangzhou Normal University. Students will also experience the excitement of Chinese history, culture, landscapes, architecture and food, along with the warmth and generosity of the Chinese people. Here's the tentative itinerary: Fly from New Orleans to Shanghai, China. Take a high-speed train from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Spend three weeks studying Chinese at HNU. Weekends and some afternoons will be spent on cultural activities, including visits to Shanghai, Suzhou, and Wuzhen. In the fourth week, we will leave Hangzhou to visit Qufu, hometown of Confucius. Take a bus from Qufu to Linyi to meet your previous Chinese instructors at Linyi University and visit historical sights. Take a train from Linyi to Beijing to enjoy the capital of China. Fly from Beijing to New Orleans.
