In history, the M.A. emphasizes American and European social and political history. Opportunities to concentrate upon women's studies are available in both fields. The extensive Women's Collection at the Blagg-Huey Library is an excellent research resource for graduate students. Students are encouraged by the faculty to consider courses from other disciplines outside the department as part of their graduate program. Course selection should be made with the advice and approval of the student's graduate committee.
