- The B.Sc. in Civil Engineering degree is a prestigious program designed to train future engineers to meet the

Core Themes: Construction Management and Water Resources Engineering
Taught by leading faculty at Technion’s Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the program exposes students to structural, economic and construction management aspects of the physical and natural built environment, water resources planning, geoinformatics and transportation engineering. It also explores underlying applications of science and engineering to the improvement and preservation of natural resources.
Option of Transferring to Regular Technion Programs (in Hebrew): Students who have successfully completed the first year (Freshman Year) of the program have the option of transferring into a regular undergraduate study track in Hebrew offered by other engineering and science faculties at the university, provided their Hebrew language skills are sufficient according to Technion policies. Please note that Internal Faculty Transfer Students enrolled in a Technion International program who would like to transfer to another Technion faculty are responsible for inquiring with the faculty in question about its transfer requirements.

The program prepares students for successful careers in the private, public, and governmental sectors in areas such as infrastructure and general construction, water resources management, wastewater treatment, water treatment and pollution, control, air and soil pollution, and remediation and solid waste disposal. Students will learn about construction management at different stages of construction process, touching on areas such as management, economic business, planning and legal issues associated with this process. Topics related to the design and management of water delivery and supply systems, water and wastewater treatment and recycling, and the development of new water sources will be studied. Basic tools for mapping a site and understanding geoinformatics, transportation science and road engineering focused on the areas of the design and operation of roads, junctions and interchanges, pavement design and traffic flow characteristics will also be taught. Graduates of the program will be awarded a BSc in Civil Engineering from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

The program includes an Orientation Week and Preparation Period, as well as housing options as explained below: Orientation Week: Technion International also provides a comprehensive Orientation Week designed to familiarize students with the campus and surrounding neighbourhoods, and to provide a general guide to student life in Israel. The Orientation Program covers essentials such as opening an Israeli bank account, getting a cell phone plan, navigating around Haifa, and more. Preparation Period: Following the orientation week, students will undergo a Preparation Program, which lays the foundation for upcoming studies. Owing to the wide and diverse backgrounds of our international students, it’s essential that all students will begin the academically rigorous BSc program on an equal footing. To ensure that students are fully prepared for the demanding course load, the Technion mandates that all BSc students successfully complete a 16-week preparation program. During this period, students undertake intensive training in mathematics and physics, learn basic Hebrew, and pick-up helpful study skills. Experience indicates that the preparation program gives students a greater chance of excelling in and completing their engineering studies here. This preparatory period allows students to become familiar with the university’s academic structure and get to know their peers through informative and enjoyable social activities. The program also provides students with individual tutors, extra classes and counseling as needed. Students must be prepared for a challenging and intensive period of study. Housing: Students are housed in private rooms in Technion’s new dormitory complex consisting of five-person furnished apartment units, shared with international peers. Living on campus, they will enjoy a vibrant and welcoming student community, which will help them easily integrate into life at Technion.

Carmel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.Students are housed in private rooms in modern five-person apartments shared with Israeli and international peers. Technion provides student guides and facilitators, and organizes a wide range of social events, extracurricular activities, sport facilities and cultural events, as well as trips and tours throughout Israel. Technion also provides students with individual tutors, extra classes and academic guidance counseling as needed.
