Program Description:

St Patrick's College, Drumcondra, offers a two-year MA Programme on a cyclical basis in the following Humanities subjects: Children's Literature, Theatre Studies (both offered by English), French, Irish, History and Music. History also offers a one year MA, and Irish a postgraduate diploma/MA in Translation Studies (in collaboration with Dublin City University) In 1993, in fulfilment of a long-standing aspiration, a BA in Humanities was introduced. This was followed in 1997 by an innovative Taught Masters programme which has already proved a notable success. It has benefited students and staff alike and enriched the intellectual life of the College. The MA programme offers students the opportunity to pursue study and research in a chosen discipline at a higher level. We hope that it will enable you to find fulfilment in your own lives and make a worthwhile contribution to the discovery and transmission of knowledge. The specialisms on offer - Children's Literature, Theatre Studies, Irish, French and History - reflect some of the areas of expertise of the College. They aim to meet identified needs in postgraduate studies in Humanities.
