Students in the MPH program in Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness can choose from the following program options to complete the concentration alone, or in combination with the following disciplines: • MPH with a concentration in Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness (48 hours--above) • Joint MPH in Environmental & Occupational Health and Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness (54 hours) This joint concentration degree allows students to combine related disciplines in order to be marketable in both the public and private sector. Program graduates will be uniquely and specifically prepared for management positions combining the skill sets employed by environmental specialists, industrial hygienists, hazardous waste managers, and air quality experts, but with a disaster planning, response, and mitigation focus. • Joint MPH in Epidemiology and Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness (54 hours) Program graduates in this joint concentration will be uniquely and specifically prepared for management positions combining the skill sets employed by epidemiologists and disaster preparedness professionals. It includes the study of disease outbreak investigation and control, and quality and cost effectiveness of care, but with a disaster planning, response, and mitigation focus.
