Program Overview

Program Description:
The Master of Science in Sports Management prepares students for professions in municipal recreation, campus recreation, public school activities director, amateur and professional sports marketing and advertising and/or facilities director. Degree and Plans Offered: Master of Science in Sports Management, Plan A (Thesis) at 32 credits. Mast of Science in Sports Management, Plan C (Field Experience) at 36 credits. All students are required to pass a final written comprehensive examination.

Requirements:
A minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75. Three letters of recommendation. GRE Required. Personal statement. Language testing scores(International Students). Applicants should have a strong science background. Physiology students should have undergraduate course work in human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and exercise physiology. Biomechanics students should possess strong skills in calculus, and statics. Interviews are not required but encouraged. Contact department for interview schedule.
International Requirements:
In addition to submitting an application, application fee, GRE/GMAT scores if required by program, and 3 letters of recommendation, international students must also submit scores from a language admission exam and financial documentation stating ability to cover the cost of graduate study. Qualifying language admission exams and required scores are as follows: TOEFL: 550 on the paper exam or 79 on the iBT with no subscore under 17; Michigan Placement Test: 80; IELTS: 6.5.
