- Program Description:
While studying Biological Sciences you will gain in-depth knowledge in your chosen area of biology while being introduced to related disciplines. You will have access to a variety of laboratories with the up-to-date equipment you need. Programs are designed as a stepping stone into teaching and research positions, medical product sales, professional careers as medical doctors, and natural resource scientists and managers.
The graduate program in biology offers two tracks:
- Master of Science (Plan A, thesis option) Cell and Molecular Biology at 30 credits.
- Master of Arts (Plan B, non-thesis option) Cell and Molecular Biology at 36 credits.

- A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 in the major. An undergraduate major in History. Three letters of recommendation. GRE scores. Personal statement. Language testing scores.
- International Requirements:
- In addition to submitting an application, application fee, GRE/GMAT scores, and 3 letters of recommendation, international students must also submit scores from a language admission exam and financial documentation stating that the student can cover the cost of graduate study. Qualifying language admission exams and required scores are as follows: TOEFL: 213 on the computer exam, 550 on the paper exam or 79 on the iBT with no subscore under 17; Michigan Placement Test: 80; IELTS: 6.5.
