Program Overview
- Program Description:
- This program seeks to prepare regular classroom teachers to implement appropriate measures for serving all students in their classroom, from the academically challenged, to the emotionally handicapped, to the highly gifted. Students in this program learn to be sensitive to the various needs of students in the classroom , keeping in mind personality types and matching learning activities to the learning styles of each. They will develop appropriate classroom interventions and teaching strategies for corrective remediation of academic and emotional learning difficulties, as well as strategies for addressing a broad range of student exceptionalities in the inclusive classroom. Classes are offered only in June and July of each year, and, by attending full-time for three consecutive summers, classroom teachers may complete their degrees without minimal disruption of their teaching duties.
