In the quest to make sense of our collective and individual past, this program develops research, analytical, and communication skills, and offers a diversity of historical perspectives. Students design their own focus of study within a broader context of flexible program requirements. A thesis option offers in-depth research and synthesis; field examination option provides a breadth of choice in topical studies and applications.
