Program Description:

The Specialist Degree in School Psychology at Sam Houston State University prepares effective practitioners who are knowledgeable in areas such as child/adolescent development, learning theories, psycho-educational assessment, personality theories, therapeutic interventions, and identification of learning disabilities.

This degree requires the completion of 60 credit hours and includes 300 hours of practicum experience and a year-long internship in a public school. As a graduate of the program, you will have the coursework and experience to seek licensure as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Texas and as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist throughout the United States.
