Program Description:
Financial information functions as the nervous system of all economic organisations and markets, helping managers and investors to make economically sound decisions. Specialists trained in accounting, and finance and control understand what financial information managers and investors need, how such information is used, and how it can be securely gathered and distributed throughout the organisation and to the outside world. RSM’s MSc in Business Administration, Accounting & Control prepares you to be such a specialist. In particular, you learn: •To prepare and analyse financial information and performance measures to make decisions in such areas as new business opportunities, security investments or mergers and acquisitions. •To understand how financial and non-financial performance measures help in motivating managers and evaluating their past decisions. •To develop information systems and controls within the organisation that help to assure the reliability of financial and non-financial information. •To perform audits to check the reliability of financial reports and the information systems and controls used to produce such reports. •To understand and apply the international regulations and guidelines that govern accounting and control, such as International Financial Reporting Standards, Inter national Auditing Standards and Governance Codes. Requirements:
To join one of our MSc programmes, you must have a university bachelor’s degree – equal to a bachelor’s degree from a Dutch research university – in a relevant discipline. You will also need a solid grounding in mathematics, statistics and English as well as good results obtained in your bachelor programme. For the IM / CEMS programme, additional language requirements apply. You will be assessed on the basis of a dossier containing your academic background, grade point average (GPA), motivation and relevant test scores such as GMAT and/or TOEFL/IELTS. For IM / CEMS and Chinese Economy & Business, an interview and/or assessment will be part of the selection procedure. Non-RSM bachelor graduates must apply for admission through our online application system (OLAF).
