Program Description:

The goal of this program is to train future highly skilled technicians in the areas of apparel, footwear, bags, or textile accessories. Students will develop high-level skills and a professional network through expert lecturers, by meeting key players from the industry who will share their experience, through group projects, and by attending professional trade shows.

Acquired skills: Core competencies in manufacturing, product and project management, sourcing, fabrics, and the outdoor industry. The future of the outdoor sports industry is located in the Rhône-Alpes and surrounding region, where the European headquarters of the largest and most successful international companies of the outdoor industry are located: Salomon, Mavic, Patagonia, Petzl, Vuarnet, Columbia, adidas Outdoor, Fusalp, Eider, Millet, Arva, Scott Sports, Icebreaker… these companies fully support the OSV Education Programs. Indeed, this education program was created by company executives from the outdoor sports industry in order to address the specific needs of brands in this sector. Moreover, we are convinced that students, having enjoyed the lifestyle that Annecy and the region have to offer during their studies, will return to the area later in their career and will be more likely to establish their businesses in the area.

Setting Description:

IUT Annecy: The Université de Savoie’s IUT Technical Institute, located in Annecy France), opens students minds not only to industry but to the world at large. IUT Annecy is 40 years old, with approximately 2600 students, 180 lecturers, and 75000 classroom hours taught each year, in addition to more than 1000 internships and projects coordinated with companies in a wide variety of industries.
