Program Description:
The Master of Fine Arts in Criticism & Curatorial Practice combines history, theory and criticism with professional curatorial practice to explore and experiment with the breadth and depth of contemporary art, media and design. OCAD University is uniquely positioned in Canada to offer this program: OCADU has well-established graduate and undergraduate studio-based programs in art, media and design; it has an interdisciplinary Liberal Studies faculty; and it is located in the vibrant Queen West area of downtown Toronto.

Requirements:
Application for admission into the MFA in Criticism & Curatorial Practice at OCADU is a highly competitive process. Applicants must hold a BA, BFA, BDes, or comparable honours degree/certification with a GPA of 80% (A-) or better during the last two years of study, or must demonstrate exceptional experience/expertise as a practicing artist, designer, critic or curator. All applicants must demonstrate creative and conceptual competence at a high level.
International Requirements:
English Language Competence The official language of instruction at OCADU is English.* An applicant whose primary language is not English or whose previous education has been conducted in another language must demonstrate command of English sufficient to pursue their chosen program before being accepted into that program. Applicants are required to achieve a satisfactory score on one of the following standardized English tests that include a writing component: TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language internet based test) or If IBT is not available: a) Minimum PBT (paper-based) TOEFL of 600 and essay of 5, or b) Minimum IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 7 on the academic modules.
