Program Overview

Program Description:
The Graduate Program in Community/Clinical Psychology is designed to meet several institutional, student, andprofessional needs in acquiring competencies for the Master's level Community/Clinical Psychologist. The majorgoal is to train students to function as competent professionals in a variety of settings as opposed to any oneparticular setting. A unique aspect of the psychology program involves its orientation toward those aspects ofpsychology that are relevant for work in the black community. The curriculum is conducive to the acquisition oftheoretical and practical knowledge as well as stimulation of the kind of personal development and awareness which will prepare students to assume responsible roles in the community.

The Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology is offered jointly with the College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and Old Dominion University through the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology. Contact: exoneill@odu.edu.
