Program Description:

The Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the School of Health Sciences and Practice at New York Medical College provides students with an understanding of the business, programmatic, planning and policy areas of health care and public health. The program prepares graduates to be leaders in a wide range of heath care services, public health and research. The Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management requires 46 credit hours to complete. Within the required 46 credits to complete the program, students must complete the following: (structured public health practice experience). Required core courses: 16 credits Health Care in the United States Introduction to Biostatistics Introduction to Epidemiology Environmental Influences on Human Health Behavioral and Social Factors in Public Health Practicum (1 credit) - structured public health practice experience Required concentration courses: 18 credits Law and Health Health Economics Financial Administration of Health Delivery Systems New Directions: Managing Health Care Organizational Theory Approaches to System Improvement in Healthcare Operations Electives: 9 credits (Consult with Advisor) Culminating Experience – HPM Capstone: 3 credits
