Program Description:
The Master of Science in Environmental Education program expands students’ scientific knowledge as well as their experience-based teaching skills. Students develop into well-rounded researchers and educators. Faculty hold both scripture and science in high regard in the learning community. In the program, students have the freedom to explore, the freedom to question, and the freedom to believe. From a Christian perspective, students learn the historical development of the environmental movement and the environmental education field, the environmental systems operating on local, regional, and global scales and the human impact on those systems, and a theoretical understanding and practical knowledge of instructional strategies, teaching methods, and curricula used in education. Accreditation:
Montreat College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) to award associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. Montreat College has also received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), located in Olathe, Kansas.

Applicants must submit the following credentials: 1. Montreat College application for admission 2. Official, final transcripts showing completion of a baccalaureate degree and of any previous graduate level course work completed - Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA in undergraduate study 3. Official military transcripts (if applicable) 4. Applicant Essay 5. Cover letter (letter of interest) 5. Resume, including both academic and employment history 6. Two letters of recommendation
International Requirements:
The only difference is that they would have to go through a third-party company for them to translate their official transcripts. That cost would be covered by the student.
