Requirements:
There is no language requirement for native English speaking applicants to the Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) program. Non-native English speaking applicants must meet the proficiency requirements listed below.
GRE scores are not required. However, applicants who have taken the GRE are encouraged to submit them because they may positively influence merit scholarship awards. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 are strongly encouraged to submit GRE scores for admission consideration. Please use our four-digit institution code [4507] to send us your scores.
A 30-unit advanced entry TESOL degree can be completed in three academic semesters: Fall, Spring and Summer. Applicants must meet all admissions requirements for the 2-year TESOL degree program in addition to previous successful coursework toward a TESOL certificate or Applied Linguistics degree program.
International Requirements:
Non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. You may waive this requirement if you've attended high school and college/university in the U.S. or UK.
