Program Description:
Our programs in language teaching combine strong academic preparation with practical training in language pedagogy. Other parts of the program teach participants to be flexible and innovative as they respond to various types of needs, cultural differences and program requirements. Our curriculum is distinguished for its solid foundation in the fields of language teaching, linguistics and program administration. Our faculty will train you in a broad range of topics necessary to your development as language education professionals. Typically you will complete our master's degree program in three or four semesters with a course load of 12-13 credits per semester. Students with prior TESOL coursework may qualify for the one-year advanced entry program. Also, if you're searching for a two-year cross-cultural adventure, be a part of our Peace Corps Master's International program. Our students also have opportunities for language education internships in the United States and around the world.

Requirements:
There is no language requirement for native English speaking applicants to the Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL) program. Non-native English speaking applicants must meet the proficiency requirements listed below. GRE scores are not required. However, applicants who have taken the GRE are encouraged to submit them because they may positively influence merit scholarship awards. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 are strongly encouraged to submit GRE scores for admission consideration. Please use our four-digit institution code [4507] to send us your scores. A 30-unit advanced entry TESOL degree can be completed in three academic semesters: Fall, Spring and Summer. Applicants must meet all admissions requirements for the 2-year TESOL degree program in addition to previous successful coursework toward a TESOL certificate or Applied Linguistics degree program.
International Requirements:
Non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. You may waive this requirement if you've attended high school and college/university in the U.S. or UK.
