Program Description:
Small classes, accomplished faculty, individual attention, and technological support distinguish Mercer University's Tift College of Education M.Ed. in Secondary Education. Program requires 30 semester hours (10 classes) of graduate credit designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of certified teachers while also providing teachers with the opportunity to upgrade their teaching certificate to a master's level (T-5). Includes a focus on leadership development, advocacy for all learners, best practices in pedagogy, and applied research skills. Endorsements available in ESOL, Reading, Science (K-5), or Mathematics (K-5).

Requirements:
To be admitted into an M.Ed. Program, an applicant must: 1. Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or better. 2. Possess or be eligible for bachelor’s level certification in the appropriate field. Students must meet initial certification requirements in their selected field prior to being admitted to the M.Ed. Program. 3. Submit satisfactory admission test scores that are less than five years old at the time of admission on one of the following tests: - GRE [target score: 146 Verbal, 141 Quantitative, 3.5 Analytical Writing or 800 Verbal + Quantitative (for scores prior to August 2011)], or, - Miller Analogies Test [target score: 397].
