Program Description:

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology offers M.Sc., M.Sc.A., and Ph.D. degrees. The Department concentrates on four key areas of research: cellular and molecular immunology; microbial physiology and genetics; molecular biology of viruses; and medical microbiology. Substantial and up-to-date instrumentation, including a fluorescence-activated cell sorter, a phosphorimager, and a battery ofultracentrifuges, as well as an in-house animal facility, supports the research efforts of our staff. A Biotechnology Centre in an adjacent building provides oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis, as well as DNA and protein sequencing.
