Program Description:
This is a one year, full-time academic year, programme which will comprise six taught modules and the completion of a research dissertation (18,000 -20,000 words). Students will take three modules in the first semester and three in the second. A variety of assessment methods will be used: essays, projects, presentations and seminars, course work and written examinations. The taught modules will be assessed by a combination of continuous assessment, written assignments and end-of-semester examinations. The dissertation will be allocated 12 credits of the final assessment and the six taught modules will be allocated 18 credits in total. • Irish Communities in Early Modern Europe • Oral History • The Irish Parliamentary Tradition • The Irish Revolution 1912-1927 • Image-based Research in History • Research Methods in History Applicants should possess a primary degree at second-class honours level in History (or in some circumstances in a cognate discipline e.g. Archaeology, Geography, Irish Studies).
