Successful completion of the concentration requires candidates to complete all required courses and pass the state-mandated Praxis reading specialist test. Our second concentration, Teaching Children's Literature P-12 requires applicants to hold a current teaching certificate, including the initial preparation of at least 12 weeks of full-time student teaching, but does not lead to advanced certification.
