- Vibrant, engaging, innovative and flexible. The Master of Arts Degree in Music at Mansfield University was designed with today’s working music professional in mind. Mansfield University has developed online course offerings, Summer Music Institute programs and flexible degrees to meet the variety of interests of musicians today which allow you to work and complete a meaningful master’s degree. Courses are offered annually online and through summer study at our Summer Music Institute to allow teachers flexibility in scheduling. Accredited by NASM, the Master of Arts in Music with an Emphasis In Instrumental Conducting at Mansfield University can be completed in two years with online offerings, Summer Music Institute courses, hybrid-courses and live study. Residency is achieved through attendance at two consecutive Summer Music Institutes. Applied lessons in conducting are required – scheduling is flexible and may involve distance video conference in combination with live one-on-one study. Annual Residence is an option for interested individuals. Graduate Assistantships are available pending funding.

- Potential graduate students in instrumental conducting should have a minimum of two years of teaching experience (some exceptions may be granted depending on the candidate’s experience and ability) and possess an undergraduate degree in the field of music from an NASM accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. An audition is required for the instrumental conducting track
