Speech-language pathologists care for patients of all ages with communication disorders. They assess, treat, and help to prevent speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and related disorders. They work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, private practices and more. The master's degree is the standard credential in the field.
