Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Juilliard’s Piano Department is the second-largest department within the Music Division, representing approximately one-quarter of its total student enrollment. Students come from all over the world to study with members of a faculty that includes some of today’s most illustrious performers and distinguished pedagogues. As a piano student at Juilliard, you will work closely with our dedicated faculty members and enjoy ample performance opportunities. These include at least three (occasionally four) annual piano concerto competitions leading to a performance with the Juilliard Orchestra in Alice Tully, Avery Fisher, or Carnegie Halls, or in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Piano majors may also sign up to play on the piano performance forum in Paul Hall, which takes place eight times a year and is open to the public, and participate in Juilliard’s annual ChamberFest series. Last but not least, you can gain valuable interactive performance experience by participating in one of Juilliard’s educational or community outreach programs.
