- Program Description:
- The John Marshall Law School’s China IP Summer Program emphasizes Chinese laws and legal institutions governing IP, and transnational border issues between China and the United States.
China has developed into a major IP marketplace, making those who understand Chinese IP laws a valuable asset. The program will run June 2-29, 2013. Students choose between a 4-week program (4–6 credit hours) and a 2-week program (1–3 credit hours). Courses offered: Intellectual Property Survey, International Law Seminar: Comparative IP Protection Issues in China and the US, Current Legal Issues: The First Amendment Confronts New Technology, Intellectual Property Management and Strategy. 1–6 credit hours Courses qualify for approximately 10 CLE hours per credit hour.
- Setting Description:
- The program will use classrooms, housing and dining facilities at the Peking University. Peking University is world famous for both its quality education and its physical beauty. Gardens located on the campus retain elements of the gardens from a Chinese royal family home previously located on the site. Each student will receive an ID card to enter the campus and a meal card to dine at dining facilities of the Peking University.

- Tuition: $1,420 per credit hour Housing, Food, Tours: $1,000 per student double occupancy; $1,500 for single (Note: students participating in the 2-week program pay half.) Airfare: Arranged and paid by each student A non-refundable application fee of $100.00 is due by March 29, 2013. Full payment of tuition and fees is due May 12, 2013. Students should contact the financial aid office at their home institution to see if financial aid is available for this program
