- The M.S. degree with a major in Economics includes completion of a core sequence of courses including microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, quantitative methods and econometrics. The M.S. program is primarily designed for students who have the desire and aptitude to pursue a Ph.D. but require additional coursework background before beginning PH.D. level studies. Ph.D. candidates majoring in Economics complete yearlong core course sequences in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and econometrics. Students select two fields of specialization. Graduate assistantships and departmental scholarships are available for well-qualified applicants.
