- Mission The mission of the School of Engineering is to provide students with programs of study leading to a comprehensive education designed to prepare them for, and support them in, careers in engineering and related professions. Continuing education is a vital component of every engineer's effort to remain a viable contributor in today's rapidly changing technological world. The ISU School of Engineering expects its faculty to remain current in their chosen emphasis areas, and encourages alumni and other area engineers to partake of the evening course offerings made available through the School of Engineering. The School offers Fundamentals of Engineering exam review courses, courses in many and diverse fundamental areas of engineering, and participates in joint efforts with other universities throughout the country [e.g., Western Governors University (WGU) and the Inland Northwest Research Alliance (INRA)] directed toward continuing education. The School is committed to taking advantage of modern technology (e.g., compressed video, Internet, videotape) insofar as possible to make continuing education resources available as widely as possible. Goals To provide undergraduate education in computer science and selected traditional engineering disciplines. To strengthen the engineering and computer science programs by implementing changes based on continuous assessment. To Serve society by providing continuing support to graduates, industry, the profession, and the community.
