Program Overview

Program Description:
GW's Professional Master's Degree in Molecular Biotechnology is the up-to-date response to the challenge of entering this expanding field. GW's innovative program combines critical elements of science, technology, and business to prepare its graduates for a variety of jobs in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Students in the MMB program will learn to design, commercialize, and employ biotechnology devices. Students will work in state-of-the-art labs, collaborate in innovation project teams, and get real-world experience through structured internships in the biotechnology industry. The GW Master of Professional Studies in Molecular Biotechnology is a multi-disciplinary science degree and one of only a handful of biotechnology graduate programs of its kind. Geared for students who want to continue their careers in the sciences but do not have immediate plans to pursue a PhD and a research career, the GW MMB program provides a solid basis in both science and business education. An advisory board composed of Washington, DC-area biotech leaders from industry, government, and education works with GW faculty to develop and maintain the currency of the MMB curriculum and other program elements.
