Program Description:
Evangel University’s Master of Education in Literacy program leads to Reading Specialist Certification. This program prepares teachers to be literacy leaders in the classroom, in clinical settings, and in administrative roles. This program addresses current trends, assessment and effective strategies for reading instruction. Evangel University's graduate program in Literacy offers you the opportunity to take your life and career to the next level. The blended learning design of the literacy program allows you to complete your master's degree at times and places convenient for working teachers. Features of this program include the following: •Two-year cohort model allows you to step through the course sequence with peers •One online and one seated course paired each semester to maximize personal learning and provide convenient schedule options •Summer internships in our on-campus reading clinic for four weeks in June

•Hold an earned baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university or be accepted into an Evangel University 5-year BS/MS degree program. •Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better in the last 60 hours of undergraduate work or last two years as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. •Must have teacher certification. •Prefer Praxis II Exam.
