Program Overview

Program Description:

Students engage in a unique opportunity to study NBB in Paris; the faculty and students on the program will connect the rich history of French neurology with contemporary neuroscience research. Students will couple in-class discussions with a variety of extracurricular outings to locations that illustrate France's role in early Neurology (e.g. Hôpital de la Salpêtrière) and its current research interests (e.g. Institut Curie or La Cité des Sciences). In addition, students will have access to the food, culture and art of Paris, including visits to Versailles and Giverny and museum passes for the Parisian museums as a part of the program.

Academic Focus: This program is open to students of varying majors and minors, but is particularly suitable for students with academic interests in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. Eligibility Requirements: Minimum 3.0 GPA; good academic standing; at least 18 years of age; completion of a full year of college; and currently enrolled in a college/university. Please note: NO FRENCH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED. Courses: All program participants take two courses for a total of eight Emory credit hours. All classes are taught by Emory faculty.
