Program Overview
- Program Description:
The mission of the Counseling Psychology Department is to train students to be competent and ethical practitioners, encourage and enable application of the knowledge and skills students gain and nurture students’ ability to integrate faith and practice. Students meet educational requirements for a variety of state and national credentials and certification. The MS and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology program trains students to become certified K-12 School Psychologists in the state of Pennsylvania. Through careful blending of art and science, graduates implement data-based assessment, consultation, and prevention/intervention strategies in school settings. Additionally, students meet the educational requirements for the NCSP credential. Students who complete the 63 credit MS and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology are also eligible to pursue licensing as a professional counselor (LPC) and licensing as a Behavior Specialist (LBS).
