- Program Description:
- The Master of Arts in Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary program that offers students the opportunity to design an individualized program of study in the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, and related fields. This approach enables students to pursue study in areas such as Appalachian studies, women's studies, or African-American studies - areas where courses exist but there is no specific degree program. M.A.L.S. students complete a common core and then combine graduate courses from other academic departments with either a thesis or special project to complete their program of study. Concentration are offered in Archival Studies, Gender and Diversity Studies, and Regional and Community Studies.
