Program Description:

Financial markets are at the heart of the international financial system. This program offers a broad and fundamental understanding of these markets and possible investments therein. The programme pays particular attention to incentives, behaviour, and regulation of the various players/institutions (such as hedge funds, regulators, banks, and pension funds). Thereby, the programme offers an integrated, analytical and critical approach to understanding financial markets and their investment opportunities. Students will be confronted with key financial and economic principles in a demanding and stimulating environment. Emphasis will be on understanding the underlying mechanisms and being able to implement ideas in day-to-day financial decision making. Throughout the programme students discuss current market developments in wrap-up meetings. A thesis is written at the end of the programme, based on an extensive internship.
