Program Description:

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology, housed in the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University, has a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and for equipping its students to excel in today's highly competitive field of biological research. In an era of departmental reductions, the Department has been expanding its faculty base and establishing innovative programs through cross appointments in Surgery, Dentistry and Medicine. These expansions open up new areas of research in transplantation immunology, oral microbiology, and bacterial pathogenesis to complement established programs in immunology, cell and molecular biology, microbial genetics and virology.
