Requirements:
First year students are expected to take at least 3 courses (including at least one seminar) for credit during their first two semesters in residence. Letter grades must be received in these courses. Incompetes are strongly discouraged. First year students must enroll in Hist 709, Intro to Grad Study in History, and must complete this course satisfactorily to remain in good standing. Students whose major area of concentration is American history must enroll in Hist 604, Grad Coll in Amer Hist. All graduate students are required to take a minimum of 7 graduate-level (600-level or above) seminars before taking the 'A' exam.
International Requirements:
TOEFL exam, or a degree (no less than 2 years full-time study) from an English-speaking university.
