Program Overview
- Program Description:
Residence: Two Residence Units (two semesters of full-time registration). The degree is expected to be completed in two continuous semesters.
Languages: Reading knowledge of one foreign language that is pertinent to the student's program (typically Latin, French, Italian, or Portuguese) demonstrated by testing in the relevant department.
Courses: Eight courses are required (24 points). Students are expected to take a variety of courses that expose them to all periods of Hispanic culture. No R-credit courses or courses of independent study are accepted for this degree.
Master's Evaluation: At the end of the student's first year the faculty evaluates all aspects of a student's academic performance during the year. If the student's performance is judged to be satisfactory he or she is recommended for receipt of the Master's degree en route.
