Program Overview
- Program Description:
- Beginning Fall 2014, Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP) will offer a 2-year, year-round thesis and non-thesis Master of Science in the Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSPS) for students interested in a broad range of scientific disciplines critical to the discovery and development of new drugs and therapies. Graduates of the program can pursue a variety of career opportunities in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. A number of pharmaceutical, biomedical, and medical device companies are located both in and around the Irvine Rinker Health Science Campus where CUSP is located in Orange County, California. Chapman created this program because company leaders indicate their personnel needs project significant employment opportunities for MSPS graduates. Also, graduates are positioned to work as researchers at universities, for agencies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which also has a large office in Orange County, U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP), and at national laboratories such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
