Program Description:

The program in Colloids, Polymers and Surfaces (CPS) is an interdisciplinary effort to fill an educational gap. More than fifty percent of all chemical products produced in the United States call for application of principles of colloid, polymer or surface science in their production and/or utilization. The Master of Science degree in Colloids, Polymers and Surfaces is offered jointly by Carnegie Institute of Technology and Mellon College of Science. Participating faculty are drawn mainly from the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Chemistry. It is also possible to earn a combined degree in Colloids, Polymers and Surfaces and either Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
