Program Description:

The intention of the Diploma course is to ease the transition from undergraduate study to postgraduate biological research. The scheme is aimed at students from a variety of backgrounds whose training is inappropriate to enter their chosen area of research directly. It will provide an introductory training in research for students wishing to go on to a further one or two years of full-time MPhil research, or three years of PhD research, in Biology. This need is often acutely felt when students switch institutions, and more particularly countries, and so encounter different departmental specialisms and expectations.
