- Program Description:
- A broad training is provided, appropriate to the needs of the environmental engineering industry and environmental regulators. Training builds on the geological knowledge of students, providing critical scientific understanding of environmental processes. Technical skills necessary to investigate a wide range of geoenvironmental topics are introduced. Taught modules include: applied geochemistry; contaminated land assessment and remediation; soil mechanics, rock mechanics, ground engineering and S.I.; hydrology, hydrogeology and coastal environmental geology; landfill waste disposal; environmental law; Environmental Impact Assessment; transferable IT skills; project management and business management skills; and safety training. Students may specialise during their six-month project period which is undertaken in association with an industrial partner.
