Program Overview
- Program Description:
The Collaborative MBA isn't your typical MBA. With a program structure built on two one week residencies and live video conference classes, the students themselves become a collaborative learning community. In addition the program is itself a collaborative venture of the four sponsoring organizations.
The curriculum is based on the concept of "leadership for the common good" which includes values of community, leading as service, justice, sustainability and global citizenship in addition to typical MBA topics such as budgeting, data analysis, and marketing and so forth.
Student cohorts complete the two-year program together. The program begins with a one-week residency at one of the collaborating institutions: Bluffton University, Canadian Mennonite University in Manitoba, Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia or Goshen College in Indiana. The second residency is an international study trip to Costa Rica to study the development of sustainable environmental practices and collaborative organizations. Other courses are offered via live videoconferencing in once a week six-session blocks.
In addition to nine core courses, concentrations are offered in:
Leadership, Accounting and financial management, and Sustainability management.
