Program Description:
The Coding & Reimbursement Specialist Program prepares graduates for entry-level coding positions in health care facilities (e.g., hospitals) and for at-home coding positions. The program meets the requirements of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Graduates are eligible to take AHIMA's Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based exams. Graduates are also eligible to take the AAPC's Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Coder-Hospital-based (CPC-H) exams.
