Program Description:

INSEAD offers a Ph.D. in Management, designed to prepare individuals for careers in research and teaching. Students specialize in one of six fields:

Decision Sciences

Finance

Marketing

Organizational Behavior

Production and Operations Management

Strategy
The expected length of study is four years. The first two years are primarily course work, distinguished by an early emphasis on in-depth training in the basic disciplines underlying management. Core and elective courses in the first year provide the basic theory and methodology for research in management, and form the basis for the more advanced, specialized studies of the second year. A comprehensive examination in the field is held at the end of the second year. Upon completion of all course and field requirements, students are admitted to Ph.D. candidacy and the dissertation stage. Research work in the third and fourth years culminates in the submission and defense of the thesis.
