Chekov, Miller, Rodgers, & Hammerstein

Over the past two days, I have witnessed genius writing performed by some impressively talented students in The Seagull, Carousel, and A View from the Bridge.  I was reminded how fun it is to watch actors have fun acting.  I think that every acting student must have tons of courage because they have chosen a profession that is scary and often insecure for a passion that they can't quit.  I was privileged to see and work with some of that passion.

St. Patty's Day

On St. Patty's Day, I felt like a true American in college.  I had two options: go grocery shopping so I could eat food this next week, or go pub-crawling.  I am starving, but had an amazing St. Patty's Day.  I made new friends (Christine's ballet buddies), and I've learned new things.  Apparently, one is supposed to sip whiskey and gulp Guinness. If it is done the other way around, Scottish people will make fun of the stupid American girl and her newly acquired ability to legally drink.

The 39 Step

Ahd and I went to see some amazing physical comedy last night at the Theater Royal in a play called the 39 Steps.  The actual plot focused on ridiculousness and involved russian spies, fake police, and some amazing costume/character changes.  Four actors (three men and one woman) played upwards of thirty characters as they ran around and tried to fix the crazy problems they invented for themselves.

Swing Dancing and Jiu Jitsu

I went to a swing dancing lesson last night at the University of Glasgow and a Jiu Jitsu class tonight at RCS.  Needless to say, I am sore.  It all started with an intense movement class on Monday where we did circuit training (Ahd gets me through the push-ups by reminding me of my goal: Demi Moore's body in G.I. Jane).  Then, I wore heels to swing dancing, MISTAKE! But the class was still fun as a very cute old guy taught me the Charleston.
