Today marked the 2-week point for my studies at Horizonte (the German language school), and the experience has been great! My class has 3 other students in it: 1 from Switzerland, 1 from Czech Republic, and 1 from Tunisia. The class meets Monday through Friday from 9.00 am to12.30 pm (with a short break from 10.30 to 11.00). I also have private instruction Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 1.30 pm to 2.45 pm.

This is the start of my third week and I am finally settling in! I have completed the intensive language portion of my studies and I had an exam on Friday (9/13/13).
I am looking forward to starting the few classes I am taking along with continuing my French classes twice a week.
Packing. This one word probably caused me the most anxiety prior to my departure. The only way to ensure efficient and effective packing for a semester abroad is to do your research. The Internet is a great resource to use to initiate this process. Many travel websites provide sample packing lists. Just be aware that you may not need many of the items listed or that something you do need may not be listed.
Grüße aus Deutschland! I have been in Germany for over a week now, and it has been nothing short of an adventure! I had intended to post an entry about my expectations for studying abroad prior to my departure; however, this ended up not happening as I had planned. While this entry is posted retrospectivley, it still encompasses all of my expectations for a semester in Regensburg, Germany.
