In a world that is shrinking and getting flatter each year the interest of being an international correspondent is on the rise. Mass communication and journalism programs are rising to the demand and are incorporating study abroad into their curriculum.
“We’re kind of bound and determined to prepare a generation of students who are going to be good journalists out there in a global age,” says Alan Weisman, an associate professor at the University of Arizona.
There are plenty out of the classroom benefits of learning reporting while studying abroad.
