The idea that you could become bored while studying abroad is a hard concept for me to understand. Sure sitting in a train station for hours is not fun but it might be the only time you are there - so make the most of it.
These cures are actually great ways to get past the tourist stage and become more involved with the culture and could be applied to any location.

Sites like CafeAbroad.com are a good way to meet students who have been or are in certain countries. BlogAbroad.com can also provide insight from a students perspective.

Students talking to and blogging with students… what a concept! Yes you can get great insight from students.
